Enjoy dinner drinks and a chance to meet…
Gem Misa is co-founder of Fullgreen, an innovative food tech startup based in London. Dedicated to bringing innovative food choices to the consumer, Gem launched the worlds’ first shelf stable ‘Caulirice’ in 2015 with husband Jamie Harris. With a global patent covering the formula, ‘Caulirice’ soon became a major player in the low-carb rice alternative space. Via equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube, Fullgreen have raised $6.1m in funding over 6 rounds, including a latest round in June this year. Now with two dedicated UK and US production lines, Fullgreen are in all major UK supermarkets and they have 2,500 US listings including Walmart, Wegmans, H.E.B and Kroger. Gem will be sharing all on launching, building and scaling the business!

The dinner conversation will be…
With pouch sales in the millions, it’s been a busy time for Gem whose tenacity and business acumen has helped to drive the brand rapidly forward into new territories. Gem will be sharing all on:
✓ Getting stocked in all major UK supermarkets as well as major retailers in the US!
✓ Creating a product and brand that resonates with your target consumer.
✓ Scaling to new countries - key considerations.
✓ From starting a business at home to becoming one of the UK's hottest food businesses.
✓ Using Crowdcube and equity crowdfunding for growth.

Who is Gem Misa?
Gem Misa, 40, is the co-founder of Fullgreen, an innovative food tech start company up based in Battersea, London. Named a UK ‘Export Food pioneer’ by the secretary of state Liz Truss, Misa also counts Sir Richard Branson as a fan – he named Cauli Rice a finalist at ‘Pitch to Rich 2015’ and has since named Cauli Rice “one of Britain’s hottest food businesses” – an accolade which supported Fullgreen’s infiltration to the US market.

*Proud to partner with Crowdcube**

What’s included?
You get a private dining experience with a knowledgeable speaker, 2 course dinner with wine or 2 soft drinks plus highly curated and relevant crowd. This is a dinner, not a dropin event, so we ask that guests turn up on time and don’t leave until after the Q&A.

#MeetandEat

P.S. TableCrowd are offering complimentary cab rides home (£15) thanks to their partner, Gett, on first download of the app. Download the app in advance.

If you book a place and then can't make it, please make sure you tell us. An empty place at the table with your name card is not a great start to dinner!

Gem started in the corporate world with Unilever in 2001, as a management trainee. She worked her way up moving from the Philippine office then to the South African regional office and finally to the Unilever head office in London where she managed one of Unilever’s largest brands as a Global Brand Manager. The challenging role equipped Gem with an acute sense for business but also re-ignited the drive to create a new food brand. She left the business in 2009 to follow her dreams of setting up a healthy food business.

In 2010 she launched her first business – Righteous - selling all natural salad dressings. Gem’s out-of-the-box thinking and proactive approach helped the brand secure listings in Tesco, Waitrose, Ocado and Booths in the second year of trading as well as some major retailers in the USA.

While the business was moderately successful, Gem continued on with her search for a product that could make a real difference to people’s health. That’s when Gem & her husband Jamie stumbled upon the idea of cauliflower rice. Realising she was way ahead of the trend, Gem turned to equity crowdfunding to propel the business forward. Launching and raising on Crowdcube enabled the completion of Fullgreen’s technical development, funded a prototype factory in Cambridgeshire that could manufacture their products at scale and supported the initial supermarket launch.

Four years on with a change of name and a range of other vegetable rices released, Fullgreen is now available in 3,000 UK supermarkets and 2,500 US retailers stocking the full Cauli and Vegi Rice range.
