Join us for dinner, drinks & a chance to meet other entrepreneurs, followed by an after-dinner talk and informal Q&A with Andy Batty, General Manager, London at onefinestay.

If you don’t already know about onefinestay, they are a pioneering hospitality brand giving guests the chance to stay in a distinctive home while the owner is out of town. They prepare each home with care, providing pristine white sheets, towels and toiletries and also use of an iphone for the duration of the guest’s stay. For the homeowners, onefinestay provides peace of mind, convenience and flexibility to those looking to make the best use out of their homes when they’re away. They take care of everything from marketing to vetting each guest to cleaning.

onefinestay recently announced a strategic deal with AccorHotels which saw the company acquire onefinestay for $240million, with an aim to help the business scale and a goal to launch the onefinestay experience in 40 cities in the next five years (it is currently operating in London, NYC, Paris, LA and Rome). onefinestay will continue to operate independently under AccorHotels as a founder-led business. Since launching in 2009, the business raised $80.9 million with Index Ventures leading the first round.

Scaling up is Andy’s thing. He has a proven history of large scale operations, joining onefinestay from Tough Mudder, where he was European Operations Director and responsible for delivering numerous large scale events and leading their expansion into non-English speaking markets.

Andy will speak after dinner about taking a business from start-up to grown up, with real examples drawn from his own experiences at onefinestay and beyond. He’ll also share the onefinestay story and the exciting times that lay ahead for the business.

Andy joined onefinestay from Tough Mudder where he was European Operations Director responsible for delivering numerous large scale events and leading their expansion into non-English speaking markets. Prior to this he held senior operational roles with AnyJunk (the UK’s largest on-demand waste removal service) and Mars Chocolate, which was where he set up a direct-to-consumer business and got addicted to the startup buzz. Andy trained in mechanical engineering and started his career in the British Army, rising to the rank of Captain.

He has a comprehensive track record of leading and managing large, diverse, multi-functional and cultural teams in the most challenging of commercial and military environments. His highly developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, alongside an advanced analytical and problem solving ability, enable him to produce results of the highest standards and ensures he sustains a continuous improvement focus and entrepreneurial mindset. He also has a proven track record of consistent delivery of outstanding results far above expectations across a broad range of business sectors.
