Curious about using data to drive and improve your business? Well join us for dinner, drinks & a chance to meet fellow entrepreneurs, followed by an after-dinner talk and informal Q&A with Kim Nilsson, CEO of Pivigo, to hear about how understanding your company's data can be the key ingredient to understanding your businesses success.
A data scientist job is to sift through all incoming data with the goal of discovering a previously hidden insight, which in turn can provide a competitive advantage or address a pressing business problem. A data scientist does not simply collect and report on data, but also looks at it from many angles, determines what it means, then recommends ways to apply the data. The success or failure of your business could lie in the delicacy of understanding the nature of this data.
Pivigo is a London based startup supporting the career transitions of academics into data science. Kim is also the lead organiser of Europe’s largest data science training programme, S2DS (www.s2ds.org), which mixes 80+ analytical PhDs with 25+ companies (including M&S, Royal Mail and British Gas) over five weeks.
Kim will share practical examples of how data can benefit your business, how to get started with data, how to become data-driven and of course how to recruit and train data scientists - all in our usual relaxed and informal setting.
Take this chance to meet Kim and to talk to her over dinner about how data science could fit in your organisation and how you can use it for competitive advantage.
Price includes private dining experience with after dinner speaker, 2 course dinner with wine and highly curated and relevant networking.

She is the lead organiser of Europe’s largest data science training programme, S2DS (www.s2ds.org), which mixes 80+ analytical PhDs with ~25 companies (including M&S, Royal Mail and British Gas) over five weeks. Kim started her career as an academic herself, with a PhD in Astrophysics from Copenhagen University. After four years of post-doctoral research in Astronomy she decided to change careers and came to the UK to do an MBA at Cranfield School of Management, after which she co-founded Pivigo. She is passionate about what data science can do to revolutionise the way we live and work, and in facilitating connections between academia and business.
