Mark Palmer is co-founder of award-winning Cawston Press soft drinks. Cawston Press creates drinks that aim to conjure up nostalgic tastes of summers past. Mark invested in the original Cawston Vale apple juice business in 1999 and recently the team turned to equity crowdfunding in 2018, raising £1.1m. Alongside Cawston Press, Mark is also the co-founder of LA Brewery, a micro-brewery based in Suffolk that make non alcoholic fermented drinks. With nearly 25 years’ experience working in the food and drinks industry, including Green & Black's and Pret A Manger, Mark will be sharing all on how to compete against the FMCG giants when developing and growing a premium food or drinks brand.

Mark was previously the Marketing Director of Green & Black's and Pret A Manger. He now also consults for a number of small emerging food and drink brands and private equity clients and also undertakes speaking engagements on the subjects of entrepreneurial business culture and marketing.

He now also consults for a number of small emerging food and drink brands and private equity clients and also undertakes speaking engagements on the subjects of entrepreneurial business culture and marketing.

Having invested in the original Cawston Vale apple juice business in 1999, Mark worked with original shareholders Stephen Unwin and Simon Dunn to create the new Cawston Press soft drinks brand. Today Cawston Press make a range of delicious range of still and sparkling soft drinks made from pressed fruit with no added sugar, sweeteners or preservatives.

Alongside also being the co-founder of LA Brewery, Mark is the chairman of Union Hand-Roasted Coffee, voted best artisan roaster and most ethical brand at the European coffee awards 2015 & 2016, having been involved with the business as a consultant and non-exec director since 2007.
