We’ll enjoy dinner and drinks followed by an after-dinner talk and informal Q&A with Joe Cross, Head of Consumer Marketing at Transferwise.
TransferWise is an international money transfer platform. It makes it up to 10 times cheaper to send money abroad compared to using a bank. Developed by the people who built Skype and PayPal, it uses peer-to peer technology to get rid of all the fees banks and brokers have kept hidden for decades.
In the past year TransferWise has grown from 40 employees to 220. Earlier this year it announced it had transferred $1bn of customers’ money, meaning it’s helped to put $45m back into its customers’ pockets. TransferWise recently received $25m worth of investment from Sir Richard Branson and Peter Thiel, Facebook’s first investor, among other high profile tech investors.
Joe Cross is the head of consumer marketing at TransferWise and the brains behind TransferWise’s marketing campaigns. Joe will share his journey and give tips and insights for others working within fintech and in marketing more generally.
This dinner is for people working in or interested in FinTech startups. Take the opportunity to talk to Joe one on one over a delicious meal.
