Calling all Speech and Language Therapists! Insane Logic would like to invite you to an evening full of fun, food and interesting discussion around the topic of “Virtual Speech and Language Therapy: The Future of the Industry?” It is a chance to meet and network with other Speech and Language professionals as well as hear from our speaker Wendy Lee.
Wendy will be discussing the virtual future of Speech and Language Therapy and what benefits or challenges remote therapy and learning will bring. Can information technology provide a solution to the challenges therapists face to meet the growing communication needs of our communities?
Come along and share your opinions and ideas around this issue, and a Q & A session with Wendy will allow everyone to get involved and have their say. Insane Logic will be facilitating the dinner which looks set to be an interesting and fun evening for those who are passionate about the future of Speech and Language Therapy. Come along to share and discuss the challenges you face and stay on top of future technology options for the industry.
Price includes private dining experience, a 2 course dinner with half a bottle of wine per person and the after dinner speaker.
Wendy has worked as a speech and language therapist for almost 30 years, in clinical practice, higher education and the third sector. She believes in collaborative working to support all children to communicate to the best of their abilities.
Until recently she was Professional Director at The Communication Trust where she led on Hello, the National Year of Communication, working with local speech and language therapists and teachers to promote the importance of speech, language and communication for all children. She led on developing and sharing information and resources for parents and practitioners as well as inputting on national policy and research programmes.
She worked with the Better Communication Research team on What Works; an interactive database of evidenced interventions to support children's speech, language and communication and subsequently consulted with local therapists and teachers to ensure it was fit for practice.
She has written a range of resources and interventions, such as Talk Boost, a targeted intervention to support children with language delay and the Talk of the Town, a community project to support communication in areas of social disadvantage, funded as a large research trial with the Education Endowment Foundation.
Wendy is currently working independently, collaborating with speech and language therapists and teachers; supporting schools and settings and working with organisations, such as the Makaton charity, the Book Trust, Cambridge University and The Communication Trust on all things speech, language and communication.
This is a private dinner hosted by Insane Logic. Annie Logan will be there on the night.
