Enjoy dinner drinks and a chance to meet…
Mathew Carver is founder of The Cheese Truck, two converted 1970s Bedford ice cream trucks, launched in early 2014 to celebrate and promote all that is great about British cheese! By 2016, they decided it was time to make the jump to bricks and mortar, reaching their equity crowdfunding target on Crowdcube in less than a week, and opened their flagship Camden restaurant, The Cheese Bar the following year. Now they are in the midst of also launching Pick & Cheese in Covent Garden, at the new KERB street food market! By gaining a strong social media audience and global media coverage including being featured in the New York Times, Matthew will be talking about developing The Cheese Truck from street food enterprise to a successful bricks and mortar business.

The Cheese Truck made a name for itself serving some of Britain’s best grilled cheese sandwiches from their iconic classic Bedford vans: Archie, Alfie & Audrey! They conquered the fields of Glastonbury, starred in Hollywood Movies and travelled as far as Istanbul and Dubai, selling half a million sandwiches & amassing a passionate following on their mission to rejuvenate British cheese.

Matthew previously worked in various areas of the hospitality and catering industries from running silver service dinners to catering for 10,000 hungry festival goers at Glastonbury. These experiences helped give Matthew a broad range of transferable skills that helped set up success for The Cheese Bar. Prior to starting The Cheese Truck, Matthew was operations manager for Battersea Pie, a London-based restaurant and events business.
