Join us for dinner, drinks & a chance to meet fellow entrepreneurs, followed by an after-dinner talk and informal Q&A with Sheena Morjaria, who's only in town for a couple of days from Dubai.

She'll be talking after dinner about when she invests, the differences between the markets in the UK, Middle East and India and the strategic advantages of having an investor across multiple regions.

Sheena is Managing Partner of TIS Ventures. Operating out of Dubai with associates and operational businesses in London, Kenya and Mumbai, they are early stage investors providing seed capital and expansion funding, incubation including mentoring and business support for start-ups and SMEs, across media, tech and digital platforms. They have a powerful network across the regions they operate in.

They normally invest in the seed/angel stage and work anywhere between $50,000 to $250,000. They also work with start-ups looking to raise more and take this to their external pool of investors.

Sheena is a seasoned international media and business professional having spent the last ten years as an entrepreneur, after building her foundations in the corporate world. A graduate in Law and Economics from the University of Cambridge, Sheena started her career in finance, working in mergers and acquisitions in London. She then successfully founded and launched a film finance boutique earning various credits as producer and executive producer and successfully backing award-winning films in the UK and US. She is an expert in film finance – often invited to speak at conferences and participate as an expert at film festivals including SXSW, Dubai International Film Festival amongst others.

Sheena’s wealth of knowledge specifically in matters such International tax incentives and other schemes for foreign film makers has provided her an opportunity to work with a number of leading producers and directors, - structuring their budgets in the most cost effective way and taking advantage of worldwide incentives.

As one of the few women striking out on her own in a highly competitive and male dominated industry, Sheena is seen as a role model for young girls and aspiring female entrepreneurs, and was recently invited to judge the Girls Day School Trust Short Film Competition alongside other key female luminaries, including an Oscar nominee and three BAFTA award-winners. Sheena is also a member of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs.
